Essays argue; the other pages describe. An essay keeps its author's voice and the facts of its day, so this index adds what has changed since. A fact from an essay enters the other pages only after someone checks it against the chain or the code (Style Guide).

How Pixagram Completes the Vision for Blockchain World Domination

Matias Affolter, 2025-12-20.

The essay reads Dan Larimer's 2016 plan for Steem, a currency, then a marketplace, then sidechains and smart contracts, as unfinished, and argues that Pixagram completes it. In its account, PXS, which promises no price, takes the place of the Steem Dollar, a marketplace for pixel art stored on chain takes the second phase, and NFTs built into the protocol replace the third phase's sidechains. The essay also draws on Larimer's writing on constitutions and on subjective reality, proposes five constitutional principles, and sets out the project's next steps.

Since then, as of 2026-10-06:

  • PXS is live, and it promises no price. The essay's peg and reserve figures are not what the chain does: conversions settle at the witnesses' median feed, reduced by a haircut when collateral is thin (PXS at a Glance).
  • The marketplace and NFTs are planned for 2027. No specification has been published, and the essay's fee figures are proposals (NFTs and Marketplace).
  • The five principles remain a draft (Constitution).
  • One attribution is wrong. The article on social media's predictive algorithms that the essay quotes is by @son-of-satire, not by Larimer (The Plan Revisited).

Adding an essay

  1. Publish it where you choose, signed and dated.
  2. Open a pull request that adds a row to the index and a summary: the date, the title with its link, the author, a neutral summary of two or three sentences, and what has changed since, if anything.
  3. Check its facts before other pages use them. A figure from an essay goes into a concept or reference page only with a source from the chain or the code (Contributing).

An essay listed here is published as written. The index does not endorse it.
